-::- Guide No: WL2119 -::-

Bull's Inn is situated in Mpame, a small coastal village in the former Transkei. We are a small dot on the map, but BIG on fishing! If you seek a unique Wild Coast experience, a far cry from your day to day city life, this is the place to be. We offer homely accommodation for groups and families that share our passion for fishing and are keen on exploring the sea and hunting the catch of the day!

The access roads are your typical 'African' roads and when travelled makes for an experience of its own. A 4x4 is suggested, although standard vechiles have made the trip!! The nearest 'shopping mall' is in Mthatha which is +/- 120 km away....

So pack up your bags and gear up for an unforgettable experience...

Mpame presents its self with excellent fishing opportunities, with both rock and deep-sea fishing delivering exciting catches.

Rock Angling
A number of the preferred rock angling spots on either side of the bay are within walking distance of the lodge, while the more challenging spots like the legendary Mbolompo Point are certainly not for the faint of heart and are accessible only by 4 x 4. (beach law restrictions apply)
The Nwaza River and estuary, generally closed over the winter months as it produces predominantly during summer, is a firm favourite with keen fly-fishermen, as well as for drop-shot baits.

Deep Sea Fishing
For those wanting a more exhilarating deep-sea experience a suitable boat manned by a qualified skipper is available for charter at R120 per person per hour, with tackle and bait being supplied. Be aware that the skipper has a daily quota restriction and encourages a catch and release policy, in particular where the more fragile and endangered species are concerned.

The Lodge provides independent freezer facilities for the storage of bait.

Please note that guests are required to provide their own gear for these activities.

With Mpame Beach directly in front of the Lodge perfectly safe for swimming and surfing. Delightful gullies provide opportunity for endless hours of snorkeling, and fortunately, as the law prohibits the use of motor driven sports equipment on the river, the quiet sounds of nature remain blissfully uninterrupted.

With virgin reef abounding in the surrounding ocean Bull's Inn is becoming an increasingly popular scuba diving destination. Dives are charged at R150 per person with scuba tank refills charged at R20 each.

The estuary and river are ideal for fishing, canoeing and paddling although the river does become inaccessible further up.

For the more energetic the nearby cliffs are ideal for abseiling enthusiasts, while the area lends itself to never-ending hiking and mountain biking opportunities.

With its magnificent coastal setting, neighbouring indigenous forest and sunrises and sunsets of breathtaking beauty, Bul's Inn presents an unparalleled haven for birdwatchers, solitude seekers, photographers and artists alike.
