Visiting Cape Town is a luxury not to be missed. This vibrant city has everything you can dream of: luxury accommodation, pumping clubs, cute bars and a massive variety of activities and outings will leave you a bit bewildered. The main part of the city is small and welcoming with everything in easy walking distance. Visitors will find everything from parks to the planetarium to art studios scattered around the city. If you are looking to do some shopping then head over to the V&A Waterfront. Take the ferry to Robben Island or stay on semi dry land and visit the Two Oceans Aquarium.
Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts Cape TownObservatory Festival with Laugh it OffThe V&A Waterfront in Cape Town

Further afield you will find:
Woodstock and Obs with their vibrant culture and diverse night life, Saturday markets and a handful of art and music.
Green Point with its new 2010 Soccer World cup stadium and around the corner you will find some of the best beaches in Cape Town.
Table View with some great Kite surfing and other water sports to make all your wildest wet dreams come true.
If you are looking for a dose of hiking, mountain biking and outdoors then head in the direction of Muizenberg. Take a slow drive along the coastal road past Kalk Bay to Simons Town, visit some penguins and then head out to Cape Point. Once you have seen the sights head back past Noordhoek and visit the markets along the way via Chapman's Peak Drive down to Hout Bay.
Not enough? Then head up Table Mountain via Cable Car or hiking through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Need a dose of reality that will touch your conscience? Head out to Khayelitsha for a night and see how most of SA lives. Please do not just snap your way through, this is real life and not a tour, ask questions and get involved.
So now that you have the brief version of Cape Town you are welcome to check out where to stay...

Cape Town Backpackers

Guide No: CT1203 -::- Tel: 021 426 0200 -::- Mail: info@capetownbackpackers.com

Cape Town Backpackers is a mix of the styles of the Cape, look out for Mama Fefe and ask what's happening. They have a lovely old house with a homely feel and if you are looking for something a bit more upmarket you can cross the street to their B&B. Visit the shops and restaurants just down the street, some of them have great hosts - check our Arnold's for their special breakfast. They have great meals and a braai every now and then. You can easily book all your day trips from here and most of the trips will pick you up at the door. Long street is a short walk away... have fun.

Long Street Backpackers

Guide No: CT1204 -::- Tel: 021 423 0615 -::- Mail: info@longstreetbackpackers.co.za

Most backpackers consider Long Street world famous and worth a visit, so this is how you do it. Go to Long Street Backpackers and book in for a week or two and party till late then retreat into the heart of the backpackers for a bit of a rest. Days can lazily be spent in the courtyard having some random conversation or down at Mr Pickwicks for a hot coffee.
Out the door is the party road of Cape Town with a huge selection of bars, clubs and restaurants. Every now and then they close off a side street for a famous party or when the long street festival happens.
When you are tired of all this you can wander off to the Company Gardens and visit the squirrels or go see the planetarium. Good luck and have fun...

Stay a night or two and wonder around town or take a day trip on a mountain bike around Cape Point. You can also book local tours from here as well as catch the train to the neighboring towns. The penguins are always good entertainment and there is a gift shop and information centre where you can buy your ticket. Check out the harbor for some great seafood and take a walk along the waters edge. There is also a place to rent sea kayaks or you may be able to convince a local fisherman to take you out for the day.
